Telling the Chanukah Tale With Davis Academy
Rabbi Micah Lapidus and Davis' young singers have another hit with a holiday song.
Rabbi Micah Lapidus, shown delivering the invocation to the Class of 2017 at the Davis Academy, is a man of music throughout the year.
Chanukah is one of the most festive of our festivals, so the AJT is spreading the fun by sharing one fun holiday video for each night of the Festival of Lights.
For the third night, we share the latest song from the Davis Academy and its talented head of Jewish and Hebrew studies and its chief songwriter, Rabbi Micah Lapidus. “Mi Yimaliel” means “Who will retell,” and the lyrics scrolling during the song say everything else you need to know.
As a bonus, we provide one of the last works from the great Jewish songwriter Leonard Cohen, “You Want It Darker.” It’s a beautiful, spiritual song and a reminder that the light of Chanukah means the most when it shines through the darkness.
