Persia Spices Up Seder Charoset

Charoset

This recipe has been passed down from generation to generation. Although there are many recipes for Sephardic charoset, this one is Persian.

1 cup walnuts
1 cup pistachios
1 cup almonds
1 cup hazelnut
1 cup red raisins
1 cup yellow raisins
2 cups pitted dates
2 cups chopped apples
½ cup pomegranate juice

Grind the nuts in a food processor to achieve a grain like consistency. Place the raisins, dates, pomegranate juice and apples in the food processor and combine to form a paste like consistency. Incorporate the ground nuts into the processed fruit to form charoset.
