ORT Auction Is On

ORT Atlanta launched its fifth annual ORTBuy online auction Monday, Nov. 7.

The auction features more than 400 name-brand gift certificates and items such as services and trips.

Such special experiences as a behind-the-scenes VIP tour of the Georgia Aquarium with AJT Publisher Michael Morris, Georgia wine tastings, three-day VIP NASCAR race passes, Walt Disney World passes, a behind-the scenes tour of “The Clark Howard Show,” an ice skating party for 20 at Park Tavern by Piedmont Park, and a Tuscan escape.

A popular item each year is a Music Class birthday party that immerses children ages 1 to 5 in song and rhythm.

The auction has raised more than $65,000 in its history. The money funds ORT programs in 56 countries. ORT Atlanta’s focus is the Hodayot Youth Village in the Galilee.

“At Hodayot, students are given a fresh start and earn degrees in specialized fields like pharmaceutical tech, security and nursing. They are then on a path to a better life,” said Jay Tenenbaum, the regional director of ORT Atlanta.

Marty Yedvarb is chairing the ORTBuy committee.

Go to www.biddingforgood.com/ORTBuy to register, browse and buy in time for Chanukah.  Bidding will close at 10 p.m. Nov. 20.
