Obituary: William Rubin

The Navy veteran and multisport athlete died Saturday, March 4, at age 91.

William F. “Bill” Rubin passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017, at the age of 91.

He was born Oct. 14, 1925, and was raised in Cleveland, Ohio, with his sister, Leona Lefkowich. He lived most of his adult live in Atlanta.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Sariece; his children, Rick (Stacey) Rubin, Bonnie (Larry) Jonas and Hal (Dana) Rubin; and his six grandchildren, Sharon, Lori, Robert, Rachel, Zachary and Freda.

He worked most of his life at Swank Inc. selling men’s accessories. He started there as a stock boy and retired as a senior vice president. For a short period he was the president of Salvatori\Bronzini belts and neckties. He was in the Navy and attended the engineering school at the Illinois Institute of Technology. He loved boxing, golfing and playing tennis and achieved numerous championships in these sports. In addition, he was a Golden Gloves boxer. Bill was a very compassionate person who loved his family. He extended his generosity and love to everyone he knew.
