Major changes are being considered for the home of the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta and the Breman Museum.

The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports that JFGA is “seriously exploring” redevelopment of the three-acre site at 18th and Spring streets NW in Midtown.

Eric Robbins, president and chief executive officer of JFGA, told the Business Chronicle, “We are at a feasibility stage of looking to create a new community arts space that would house the Breman Museum, the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival, the Atlanta Jewish Musical Festival and other groups as well as an innovation hub.”

The existing site is “under-utilized,” Matt Bronfman, CEO of Jamestown, a commercial real estate company, and a member of the JFGA board, told the newspaper.

Robbins said that JFGA has retained Coxe Curry & Associates, which works with non-profits, to study the feasibility of a fundraising campaign, and commissioned an architectural firm, Blur Workshop, to hold a planning session for the project.

The Business Chronicle reported that JFGA considered selling the site, which has a reported value of about $25 million, but – as the Jewish community grows inside the Perimeter – decided to remain in Midtown.
