Emerald City Bagels Finds Home

The mother-daughter operation has distributed its bagels to coffee shops and other breakfast spots.

Emerald City Bagels, whose New York-style bagels are sold in coffee shops and other breakfast spots around Atlanta, is opening its first brick-and-mortar location this summer East Atlanta Village.

The 2,000-square-foot shop, the former home of Gravity Pub, will serve to-go bagels, bagel sandwiches and craft sodas with limited inside seating.

“We chose East Atlanta over other areas because we live in the neighborhood and the location fits most closely with what we were looking for in a space,” including street visibility and free parking, said Emerald City Bagels owner Deanna Halcrow, who runs the operation with daughter Jackie.

“Emerald City Bagels is a great fit to the East Atlanta community,” said David Cochran, a partner with East Atlanta Village owner Pace Properties. “It answers the demand for breakfast, complements other area tenants, and supports our vision of small, local businesses populating the village.”
