What’s The Atlanta Jewish Times’ 40 Under 40?

It is a new program where members of the public nominate who they believe are the Atlanta Jewish Community’s rising leaders in business, philanthropy, education, religion, community action, and are under the age of 40.

When Are The Nominations?

They will begin in March 1, 2014, and end at 11:59 p.m. on May 15, 2014.

What Are The Nominee Qualifications?

A nominee must be Jewish and under the age of 40 and must not have turned 40 before June 1, 2014.

How can I nominate someone?

Nominations must be submitted at submissions@atljewishtimes.com.

Who can be nominated?

You can nominate yourself, a client, a friend, a peer, your boss; anyone who meets the criteria.

Can I be nominated if I am in the military?

Absolutely! We encourage the nomination of our military leaders.

What do I need to submit with a nomination?

You will need the nominees name, job title, contact information and date of birth. You will also need to detail their community involvement with dates and, tell us why you believe the nominee deserves this honor. Please remember, your nominee will be judged based on the information you supply.

Does it help to have several people nominate the same person?

No. We ask that nominations be true nominations and not an organized campaign.

I have some great young leaders in my company. Can I nominate more than one person from my company?

Yes. You can nominate multiple managers/executives from one company. However, we will urge the judges to choose only one unless the managers/executives are from separate divisions/departments of a larger company.

The leader I want to nominate will turn 40 before the event date. Can I still nominate them?

No. The nominees must be at least 25 years old as of the event date and cannot be older than 39 on the event date. We will verify the age of all the finalists.

What happens to my nomination after I send it?

The nominations are reviewed by The Atlanta Jewish Times staff to ensure eligibility and are released to the judges after the deadline. The judges will review and make a final decision.

What are the judging criterions?

The Atlanta Jewish Times’ 40 under 40 nominees are judged on their business success and their achievements as an active member of our community.

What is required of those who make the cut?

Those that are selected must make themselves available for interview and photo shoot. Attending the gala is not required but highly encouraged.

If someone I nominate was not chosen, can you tell me why, and can I nominate them in the future?

If your nominee wasn’t selected, it won’t be because of one particular reason, and you are encouraged to nominate them the following year.

What’s the deadline for nominations?

Thursday, May 15, 2014.

Can I fax or mail in my nomination?

No. Only submissions that come to us via the email below will be accepted.

Can I call you to make sure you got my e-mail?

We receive hundreds of nominations each year. Please resist the urge to make follow-up calls.
