Synagogue Softball Approaches Playoffs

Softball Standings PictureThe regular season of the Atlanta Men’s Synagogue Softball League is entering its final weekend with two of the three divisional titles still to be claimed.

Play has concluded in the B league, where Congregation Ariel (8-2) won the regular-season title in a tiebreaker over Young Israel of Toco Hills (8-2).

In the A division, Congregation B’nai Torah (6-0-1) will face second place Congregation Or VeShalom (6-2) and The Temple (4-4) on Sunday, July 26, in an effort to take home its ninth consecutive regular-season title.

The regular-season race in the C division is tight between Congregation Or Hadash (6-2), Congregation Beth Jacob (6-3-1) and Temple Kol Emeth (5-3).

Or Hadash and Kol Emeth play doubleheaders July 26, including the season finale against each other. One win for Or Hadash against Temple Sinai 2 or Kol Emeth will clinch the division, while Kol Emeth will have to win both games for a chance to finish first.

Double-elimination league playoffs for all three divisions begin Aug. 2.
