Weber Senior Becky Arbiv has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Duke University as a member of the Blue Devils Track team.

Arbiv entered her senior year at Weber as one of the top pole vaulters in the nation after finishing first in the state and third in the nation over the summer.

She is the third Weber student-athlete to play for a NCAA Division I team after Michael Asher (class of 16) who plays baseball at The Citadel, and David Tillem (class of 06) who played tennis at Georgetown University.

JCC Team Wins Church Basketball League

A team of eighth grade boys from the JCC have won the fall metro area church league while going undefeated on the season.

Zak Elfenbein, the Assistant Director of Youth Sports at the Atlanta JCC entered the select team into the eight-team league which included Sandy Springs United Methodist and Saint Jude Catholic Church among others.

JCC Softball Wraps Up Fall Season

The Marcus Jewish Community Center’s modified fast-pitch softball league finished the fall season Sunday, Nov. 13 with the annual championship and all-star games at the Atlanta JCC. In the league championship, captain Rob Scheinman and his squad knocked off the Ken Danis captained DanisBoys.

The all-star game that followed was a back and forth affair which saw retiring pitcher and captain Jody Blanke’s team defeat captain Justin Katz’s squad 18-17.
