Birth – Jace Adam Dworkin

Alexis and Eric Dworkin of Savannah proudly announce the birth of their son, Jace Adam Dworkin, on July 19, 2015. He weighed 8 pounds, 7.2 ounces and was 20 inches long.

Jace is the first grandchild of Susan and Daniel Alterman of Atlanta, Amy and Neil Dworkin of New Jersey, and Jeff and Mechelle Levine of Florida. He is the great-grandson of Phyllis Grocoff, Emily Levine, and Roberta and Cornelius Raskin.

The bris was performed by Rabbi Ariel Asa.

Wedding – Berman-Miller

Debbie and Irwin Berman and Lori and Wayne Miller are thrilled to announce the marriage of their children, Michelle and Gary.

The wedding took place June 28, 2015, at the Hyatt Atlanta Perimeter at Villa Christina.

The bride is a 2012 graduate of the University of Georgia and is a copywriter with AutoTrader. The groom is a 2011 graduate of Georgia Tech and is a mechanical engineer at ViaSat.

Michelle and Gary Miller live in Atlanta.

Engagement – Oreck-Weiss

Mark and Debbie Weiss of Roswell announce the engagement of their son, Matthew Michael Weiss, to Stephanie Rose Oreck, daughter of Michael and Susan Oreck of Minnetonka, Minn.

Matthew is the grandson of the late Mannie and Natalie Berlin and the late Jerry and Rose Weiss. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a major in political science and earned a juris doctor degree from the University of Georgia School of Law.  He is a lawyer with the Dentons law firm in Atlanta.

Stephanie is the granddaughter of Merton and Leslee Shapiro of Minnetonka, Marshall and Julie Oreck of New Orleans, Lillian Orenstein of Minnetonka, and the late Norman Orenstein. Stephanie graduated from Indiana University with a major in Jewish studies. She is employed by the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta.

An October wedding is planned in Minneapolis.

Simcha Raidbard BirthBirth – Mikayla Lucy Raidbard

Nadine and Stephen Raidbard of Atlanta announce the birth of daughter Mikayla Lucy Raidbard on April 6, 2015. She weighed 5 pounds, 14 ounces and was 18¾ inches long.

The proud family includes grandparents Arthur Garrick, Hannah Garrick and Rochelle Raidbard of Atlanta and 3-year-old sister Amaya Raidbard.

Mikayla Lucy is named in memory of Marshall Raidbard, Steve’s father; Morris Garrick, Nadine’s grandfather; Maxie Rubenstein, Nadine’s great-uncle; Lillian Dwortz, Steve’s grandmother; and Lillian Garrick, Nadine’s grandmother. Her Hebrew name, Samara, is in memory of Sarah Zwaig, Nadine’s grandmother; Sally Raidbard, Steve’s grandmother; Sam Dwortz, Steve’s grandfather; and Sam Charko, Steve’s great-grandfather.

Simcha Wasserman Taylor EngagementEngagement – Wasserman-Taylor

Marilyn M. Wasserman of Decatur announces the engagement of her daughter, Sharon Irene, to Thomas Andrew Taylor, son of Lorayne Taylor of Clive, Iowa, and James Taylor of Wichita, Kan.

Sharon is also the daughter of the late Allan Wasserman. She is the granddaughter of the late Marion and Leo Wasserman and the late Ethel and Reuben Margolis.

Sharon and Thomas met as teenagers at Playland Skating Rink in Atlanta and reconnected 32 years later.

Sharon is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia. She works as a user experience/interface designer for Tekscan in Boston. Thomas is employed by FedEx Freight in Boston.

A May 2016 wedding is planned in Atlanta at the Georgian Terrace hotel. The couple will continue to live in Boston.
