Obituary: Eudice D. Goodman

She was a member of The Temple and then Temple Sinai, and she loved to travel.

Eudice D. Goodman, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died Thursday, April 12, 2018.

Born and raised in Norfolk, Va., she lived in Atlanta for over 60 years. She was a member of The Temple and active in the Sisterhood for many years. Later in life, she joined Temple Sinai. She spent her life devoted to caring for her family and was a loyal friend. She enjoyed traveling, especially to beach locations, and was an avid mah-jongg player.

She was predeceased by her husband, William S. Goodman; her parents, Bessie and Louis Deitch; her sister, Frances Swartz; and her grandson William B. Goodman. Eudice is survived by daughter Deborah Goodman; son Lon Goodman; grandchildren Ashley Goodman (Donna Robertson), Lauren Goodman (Mark Muenster), Melissa Goodman and Lisa Lewin (Robert Lewin); and seven great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to the nurses and staff of Weinstein Hospice and all the caregivers for their kindness and devotion, including Nekeisha Miles, Musu Sesay, Lasonji Turner, Katie Young, Maureen Ruffin, Eloise Levine, Simone Glover and many others.

A graveside service will be held at Arlington Memorial Park on Friday, April 13, at 9 a.m. with Rabbi Brad Levenberg and Rabbi Steven Lebow presiding. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Weinstein Hospice, Temple Sinai, Temple Kol Emeth or Shriners Hospitals for Children. Shiva will be held Saturday night, April 14, at Deborah Goodman’s home at 7 p.m. and Sunday night, April 15, at the home of Lon Goodman at 7 p.m. Sign the online guestbook at dresslerjewishfunerals.com.
