Obituary: Emily Franco Levy

She created and published Atlanta Singles magazine with her sister and a friend.

Emily Franco Levy of Atlanta died Wednesday, March 21, 2018.

A native of Atlanta, she was born April 6, 1929, to Behor and Luna Franco, of blessed memory. Emily loved being with her family and friends. After raising two sons, she, along with her sister and a friend, created and published Atlanta Singles magazine. She was an entrepreneur ahead of her time. She later moved to Laguna Beach, Calif., where she spent 15 years as an active member of the community. Two years ago, she returned to Atlanta to be close to her family.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Esther Levy of Birmingham, Ala.; brother and sister-in-law Ned and Janis Franco; sister Sue Freeman Hancock; grandchildren Jennifer (Aaron) Lincove, Lauren (Bryan) Kaplan, David (Anna) Levy and Jillian (Andrea) Levy; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Ellen Levy, and her sister, Rachel Capelouto, of blessed memory.
