MJCCA’s Perimeter Gymnasts Win Regional Championships

THREE PERIMETER GYMNASTS RECEIVED GOLD MEDALS LEFT-RIGHT: Perimeter Gymnasts Sophia Mokotoff ∙ Halle Kwatnez ∙ Sophie Pike, 2014 Xcel Regional Gymnastics Champions

The Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta (MJCCA) recently announced that its award-winning Perimeter Gymnastics Program added 2014 Xcel Regional Championships to its growing list of accolades.

Three Perimeter Gymnastics gymnasts became regional champions at the recent Region Eight Xcel Championships:
• Sophia Mokotoff – Xcel Silver – bars (9.85)
• Halle Kwatnez – Xcel Gold – beam (9.3)
• Sophie Pike – Xcel Platinum – floor exercise (9.425)

The 2014 Region Eight Xcel Regional Championships
The 2014 Xcel Regional took place May 16-18, and was hosted by Foothills Gymnastics in Hickory, N.C. Competing in the championships were over 800 gymnasts from eight states.

Stacey Harris, director of the MJCCA’s Perimeter Gymnastics Program said, “Our Perimeter Gymnastics gymnasts, led by our exceptional coaches, brought three regional champions home to Atlanta. Congratulations to Sophia, Halle, and Sophie. We are so proud of this wonderful accomplishment. Great job girls!”

The MJCCA’s Perimeter Gymnastics Program
The MJCCA Gymnastics Program in Dunwoody provides a wonderful opportunity to learn about and participate in the popular and growing sport of gymnastics. All of their classes are led by highly trained professional coaches in their state-of-the art gymnastics facility. With 7,000 square feet of dedicated space and top-of-the-line Olympic gymnastics equipment, participants have the opportunity to learn and master the 
vault, balance beam, bars, and floor exercise in a caring, supportive environment where they strive for all students to enjoy the sport while safely developing their skills. The MJCCA Perimeter Gymnastics program is open to all. Perimeter Gymnastics is the team and it is invitation only.

The MJCCA’s Gymnastics Program Includes: Youth (Elementary – High School) and Early Childhood Recreational Classes, Pre-Team, Competitive Team Gymnastics (USAG), Optional Program, Adult Gymnastics, Camps, Birthday Parties, and Private Lessons.
