Get ready for food from some of Atlanta’s best restaurants, fine wines and a spectacular silent auction at The Tasting, a fun and elegant affair that raises money for the Zimmerman-Horowitz Independent Living Program.

The nonsectarian Z-H ILP, a program of Jewish Family & Career Services, serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as their families and caregivers, so they can work, live and thrive in their communities.

This year’s Tasting will take place Thursday, May 18, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Grand Hyatt Buckhead, where it started 17 years ago. Amy and Evan Rosen and Arin and Lorne Tritt are chairing the event.

Amy Rosen has attended the event since she moved to Atlanta in 2010. She has been a JF&CS board member since 2013, serving on multiple committees. She has chaired other JF&CS events, including the 2016 Community of Caring luncheon.

“The Tasting has been one of our favorite events,” she said. “It brings community members from across Atlanta together to celebrate the best food and drinks the city has to offer. Most important, it raises money for a really important, wonderful program. I love how the individuals from the program are at the event showcasing their art and celebrating with the community. The Tasting truly shows the heart of what JF&CS does each and every day.”

Arin Tritt has been a board member since 2015 and has a family history of involvement in JF&CS. She also once worked with the Z-H ILP as a case manager.

“I’m honored to be a co-chair of The Tasting because I believe in and proudly support the Z-H ILP and the individuals this program serves,” she said.

“My favorite thing about the event is the people it attracts. Many different people from all over the community attend this amazing event because it’s so beautifully done and because the proceeds of the evening truly benefit people’s lives,” she said.

Restaurants and caterers at The Tasting include 1KEPT, 5 Church, Added Touch Catering, Amara, Aria, Avenue Catering Concepts, C&S Seafood & Oyster Bar, Cheesecake Factory, Cibo E Beve, Davio’s, Ecco, Food 101, Haven, Grand Hyatt Buckhead, il Giallo, La Grotta, Nan Thai Fine Dining, Pricci, Sage, Saltyard, Serpas, Shake Shack and Tabla.
