Rep. Eliot L. Engel, the Chairman of the International Council of Jewish Parliamentarians, released the following statement regarding International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

“Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day, commemorating 69 years since the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau. With every year that passes, it becomes increasingly important for us to not only remember those who perished and resisted, but also continue their legacies by telling their stories. We must ensure that ‘never again’ is a reality, and that future generations understand the responsibilities they have to humanity. Let all of us, regardless of our race, religion or ethnicity, take a moment to reflect upon the rights we are so fortunate to have and to think about what we might do as individuals to protect the rights of others.”
