The Chaya Mushka Children’s House Elementary & Middle School had good news in its fall Measures of Academic Progress testing: Students at the Chabad Montessori day school in Sandy Springs scored above the national average in math, English and science in every grade.

Chaya Mushka, which serves first through eighth grades, says it is the only school in metro Atlanta that administers MAP testing three times a year to continually measure students’ growth and adjust the curriculum as needed.

The MAP testing program allows schools to exclude from their grade averages any students who have individual educational programs for special needs — those students’ scores typically lower the averages — but Chaya Mushka includes all students in its averages in keeping with its educational philosophy.

“Well done to the teachers, students and parents for the partnership needed to achieve this amazing level of success,” said Rabbi Michoel Druin, the head of school.
